Daniel Negreanu has won 6 World Series of Poker ( WSOP ) bracelets and 2 World Poker Tour (WPT) titles.
As well as winning more live poker tournaments than Justin Bonomo and Brynn Kenney combined, he holds the third most victories.
He was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame in 2014.
Early Childhood
Negreanu was born in Ontario, Canada, on the 26th of July 1974. In the seven years before his birth, his parents had immigrated from Romania to Canada.
Despite his troublesome childhood, Negreanu was threatened with expulsion from school in North York for poor manners and ignoring school rules.
Snooker was an exciting sport for him, and he aspired to become a professional player. He played poker at 15 and began betting on sports at 16 while hanging out in pool bars.
When he eventually dropped out of school, he began to play poker at local casinos and charity events all over the city.
Evelyn Ng was a professional poker player who he began dating. In his early twenties, Negreanu moved to Las Vegas, USA, to pursue a professional poker playing career.
Las Vegas poker tournaments
He achieved his first success by winning three major poker tournaments in 1997 in Vegas. His winnings included $55 064 from two major poker events at Foxwoods and the title of Best Overall Tournament Player.

His most recent winnings were a $1 million payday for winning the Shark Cage at PokerStars.net in 2016, and he placed second in The Big One for One Drop in 2014.
What is he doing now?
Negreanu moved back to Canada in 2011 and joined Team PokerStars for 12 years. He continues to play poker online and frequently shares his results at Full Contact Poker even after they parted ways in May 2019.
